Before using a truck scale for weighing operations, it is necessary to ensure that its display instrument is displaying properly. The reasons are as follows:
1. Core functional dependencies:
The core purpose of a truck scale is to accurately measure weight and display the results.
The display instrument is the only direct window for operators to read the weighing results.
If the instrument cannot display normally (such as no display, incomplete display, flashing, garbled text, etc.), the operator will not be able to obtain the weight information of the measured object, making the weighing operation itself meaningless.
2. Basis for judging the system status:
The normal display of instruments (including stable zero position display) is the primary visual indicator to determine whether the entire weighing system of the truck scale (including the scale platform, sensors, junction box, and instruments) is basically in a usable state.
Abnormal instrument display is often the most direct and easily observable signal of system faults, such as sensor damage, wiring issues, power supply problems, and instrument malfunctions. If any abnormality is found in the instrument before starting the weighing process, the operation can be stopped in a timely manner to avoid ineffective work or potential risks.
3. Ensure operational safety:
If the instrument display is abnormal (such as the display value jumping violently or not returning to zero), the operator cannot determine whether the weighing platform is in a stable and usable weighing state.
Driving the vehicle onto the weighing platform in this unknown state poses safety risks (such as the inability to determine whether the vehicle is stationary in the effective weighing area or whether overloading increases the risk of damage to the weighing body).
4. Ensure data reliability:
The stability and accuracy of the instrument display are the foundation of the credibility of the entire weighing result.
Even if the physical structure of the weighing platform itself is intact, if the instrument display is unstable (such as drift, jumping) or inaccurate (such as the displayed value not matching the actual weight), the weight data obtained is invalid or unreliable.
For key applications such as trade settlement and production control, invalid data may lead to economic losses or process confusion.
5. Necessary steps to comply with operating standards:
In any standardized operating procedure, it is essential to check the surrounding environment of the weighing platform and confirm that the instrument display is normal (including a stable zero position) before the vehicle is driven onto the weighing platform for formal weighing.
