When storing a truck scale, the need to place desiccants depends on the humidity and ventilation conditions of the storage environment. However, in most cases, it is necessary to place desiccants when the truck scale is not in use for a long time and stored in a humid or sealed environment. Automobile scales are usually equipped with multiple precision weighing sensors and electronic control systems inside, which are highly sensitive to humidity. If the environmental humidity is high, moisture in the air can easily seep into the sensor or electrical control box, causing the circuit board to become damp, corroded, short circuited, and in severe cases, directly damaging the system, affecting weighing accuracy, or causing equipment to fail to start normally.
In southern or coastal areas, the air humidity is consistently high, making it easier for truck scales to be eroded by moisture during storage and disuse. In this case, it is recommended to place an appropriate amount of desiccant, such as silica gel, activated truckbon bags, and other common moisture absorbing materials, inside the control box, around the junction box, and in areas where sensors are prone to moisture, to absorb moisture from the surrounding air and keep the local environment dry. In addition, while placing desiccants, they should be regularly checked for failure and replaced in a timely manner to ensure their continuous moisture absorption effect.
In addition to placing desiccants, other moisture-proof measures should also be taken during the storage of the truck scale, such as choosing a well ventilated environment for storage, covering the scale body and electrical components with waterproof and dustproof cloth, and using moisture-proof boxes or installing small dehumidification equipment when necessary to further reduce the risk of equipment getting damp. The electronic control box should be kept sealed as much as possible and avoid direct exposure to rain, moisture, or strong winds.
