How to go through a truck scale?

The process of passing through a truck scale is actually quite simple; just remember the mantra: "Look, slow down, stop steadily." Here are the practical steps for drivers:

I. Before Entering the Scale: Prepare in Advance

Look at the traffic lights. You'll see the entrance signal about 200 meters from the scale:
Green light: Drive straight ahead; no need to go on the scale (your vehicle has already passed the system's pre-inspection).
Red light: You must enter the scale area. Forcing your way in will result in your license plate being photographed and you being fined.
Slow down to a crawl. Shift to a low gear and keep your speed ≤5km/h (slower than walking). → Why? Driving too fast will impact the scale platform, causing the weight to be inflated!
Arrange the vehicle. Check for any tilting of the cargo and ensure the tarpaulin is securely tied. Spilled cargo will result in rework.

II. On the Scale Platform: Stop Straight and Don't Move

Align with the center line and drive so the truck is straight on the center of the scale platform, like a train track. Don't let the wheels touch the edges (an error of touching the edges is equivalent to the weight of two pigs).
Once the vehicle has come to a complete stop, turn off the engine.
Without pressing the accelerator, let it coast onto the weighing platform.
Once completely stopped, turn off the engine and engage the handbrake (the vehicle is considered properly stopped when the speedometer reads zero). → Important: The driver must not get out of the vehicle or move around! Moving around inside the vehicle may affect the reading.

III. Waiting for Results: Cooperating with the Inspection

Keep an eye on the weighbridge window. After the staff verifies the weight, they will:
Raise their hand to signal passage →  Prepare to leave.
Raise a sign requesting a re-weighing →  Slowly drive back onto the weighbridge platform.
Request a random inspection →  Cooperate with the inspection.
Keep your documents readily available. Place the freight bill and driver's license on the dashboard beforehand for quick handing during inspections to save time.

IV. Departure: Safety First

Wait for instructions before starting. Only start the engine after seeing a clear hand signal from the staff (or a green light).
Exit the weighbridge slowly. Vehicles may merge as you exit the weighbridge area; carefully check your rearview mirror before changing lanes.
